Bulk Calendar Codes That Land in the Calendar
A calendar QR code carries a VEVENT: a title, a start time, an optional end time, a location, and a description. When someone scans it, their phone offers to add the event to the calendar with all of those fields filled in. That beats a flyer that says 'save the date' and leaves the scanner to type everything in by hand.
Getting the dates right
Enter start and end times in the form YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm, for example 2027-03-05T12:30. Times are treated as local time on the scanning device, which is what most event listings mean. If you only know the day, enter the date with a start time and leave the end blank — the scanner will create an event starting then.
Before you print the batch
- Scan a sample code and confirm the event lands in the calendar with the right time.
- Check that no two rows describe the same event twice — duplicates create double bookings.
- Print the time in plain text next to each code, so scanners can check the event before scanning.
- If an event moves, re-issue the whole batch: printed codes cannot be edited.
