One Code per Dish
A single menu code sends every scanner to the same page. A code per dish sends them to the dish they are looking at — useful on shelf talkers, table cards, and tasting menus where each item has its own story, ingredients, or allergen note. This tool builds one code per row from a dish list.
Link or text payload
If a dish has a page, the code carries that page's URL, so the detail can be updated without reprinting. If it has no page, the code carries the dish name, price, and description as plain text, so it still works offline. Either way, print the dish name next to the code so scanners know what they are opening.
Before you print the batch
- Scan a sample code per dish and confirm it opens the right page or shows the right text.
- Keep prices in the payload and on the card in step — a mismatch at the till causes arguments.
- Include allergen notes in the description where they apply.
- If a dish is removed, remove its card too — an orphan code confuses scanners.
