How to Use the Food Truck QR Suite

Food truck QR codes earn their keep when they remove queues and confusion: customers find today’s spot, decide from the menu before they reach the window, order ahead, and leave a review while the food is still fresh in mind. Build one code per job, then place each where its moment happens.

Place each code where its moment happens

The location code belongs on social posts and the A-board, the menu on the side of the truck, order-ahead on the A-board and receipts, and the review code near the window and on receipts. A code in the wrong place gets ignored, however good it is.

Keep the location page fresh

The location code only works if the page behind it is updated every day you trade. Make updating that page part of the setup routine, and check the code yourself before service starts.

Test before you print

Print a sample at the real size, scan it on two different phones in bright outdoor light, and confirm the whole journey works, from scan to order. Keep the quiet zone clear and use dark modules on a light background.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the today’s-location code contain?

The location or map URL plus today’s address as a link parameter, so the page can highlight today’s spot when it supports it. If it does not, the code still opens the location page.

Why does a food truck need a fresh location code?

Because the location changes. A code that points at a page you update daily stays useful; a code that hard-codes one address goes stale the next morning. Update the page, not the printed code.

Can I change the destination without reprinting the codes?

Yes, if the code points to a URL you control. Update the page behind it and every printed code shows the new content. If the code points to a page you do not control, a change there can break your printed cards.

Will these QR codes work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in nearly all cases. Modern iPhone and Android cameras read QR codes natively. Test on both platforms before a large print run, keep the quiet zone clear, and use dark modules on a light background with strong contrast.
