How to use the Room Booking QR Generator
One code per room
A room-door code answers the two questions people ask in a corridor: is this room free, and how do I book it. The code carries the room name, so the booking page opens on this room instead of a list of every room in the building. Generate one code per room and check each label against the door it is fixed beside. A label on the wrong door books the wrong room, which is the one failure this system exists to prevent.
Labels that work in a corridor
Print the room name big in plain text above the code, with the capacity underneath, so someone walking past can decide at a glance whether the room fits their meeting. Fix the label at eye level beside the door handle, not on the door itself, where it gets covered when the door is open. Test the label in the corridor lighting, and keep the quiet zone around the code.
Testing before you rely on it
Scan every label and confirm the booking page opens on the right room with the right availability, including for a room that is currently booked. The page should show the next free slot without forcing a login. If your booking page ignores the room parameter, the code still opens the page, but users have to find the room by hand, which defeats the purpose.
